Software Developer

UTGL

Flutter development for a production fintech application across iOS and Android, working directly with backend, product, design and QA.

Ownership

  • Own the customer-facing financial journeys end to end: requirements and design discussion, technical design, implementation, API integration, automated tests, QA support and production-defect resolution.

Money journeys

  • Designed and built a six-stage investment payment flow over immutable Riverpod and Freezed state, covering fee availability, document upload, automated extraction with a manual fallback, bank lookup, quote creation and OTP-backed instruction submission.
  • Built buy, sell and withdrawal journeys for precious metals and two location-based cash journeys, with fee and balance validation, quote-expiry repricing, customer reconfirmation and duplicate-submission protection.
  • Designed the Flutter architecture for card renewal, modelling lifecycle, eligibility and customer progress as independent dimensions and resolving only the 19 supported combinations into presentation state.

Architecture

  • Restructured six KYC subflows spanning roughly 30 navigable stages and 35 practical UI states, replacing scattered conditions with explicit Riverpod state and state-driven navigation, and extracting the business rules into independently testable services and use cases.
  • Implemented Firestore-backed per-device persistence for biometric and notification preferences, preserving other installations’ settings through targeted merges and adding timeout handling, read-back verification and automated tests.

Interface

  • Translated Figma designs into responsive, localised interfaces across device sizes.
  • Consolidated repeated patterns into more than fifty reusable stateless components supporting six locales.

Quality

  • Wrote unit, widget and integration tests across the production application.
  • Investigated production defects, unnecessary rebuilds and memory issues.

Team

  • Reviewed pull requests, shared knowledge across the team and mentored one junior developer.
  • Built reusable AI-assisted workflows for coding standards, debugging, analysis and structured review, retaining technical ownership and validating the output.

Hong Kong

Senior Facilities Officer

Guardian Property Management Limited

Promoted from Property Officer. Co-authored, with one colleague, the operating and emergency procedures that prepared the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port for public operation in October 2018.

Method

  • Took each procedure from draft through review with every department it touched, then through repeated on-site verification against the building itself, revising wherever the site disagreed with the document.
  • Ran live drills with the people who would actually execute the procedures — serving Fire Services, Police and Immigration officers — debriefed each one, and re-ran it where the procedure had not held.
  • Issued a final version only once every participating party endorsed it in writing, so the procedures entered service agreed rather than merely unchallenged.

Coordination

  • Coordinated operational requirements across government departments, Customs, Immigration, Fire Services, Police, contractors and frontline teams in an environment involving more than 200 personnel.
  • Built workable answers by consulting individual departments, studying construction documents, researching comparable airport operations and interviewing experienced firefighters, continuing to engage initially reluctant stakeholders until their operational concerns were understood.

Design

  • Reworked the fire-evacuation procedure after detailed challenge from Customs and Fire Services, reconciling the competing constraints of border-clearance status, emergency access and casualty handling.
  • Mapped the taxi rank end to end — entry, exit and queue flows, traveller wayfinding, and the incentive problem created by long queues followed by short journeys — and co-designed a time-limited, vehicle-bound, machine-readable pass that let a driver returning from a short fare rejoin near the front.

Earlier

  • As Property Officer at a public housing estate: day-to-day operations, owners’ meeting agendas and minutes, maintenance programmes, and leadership of the security and cleaning teams.
